Class Teacher: Miss Elliot

Welcome to our class pages! As we blog about our work, projects and trips they will appear below, along with any photos we choose to upload.

Primary 2 have been learning about measure in maths. We had lots of fun with p5 measuring different things around the playground. We used metre sticks and trundle wheels to measure length in metres and centimetres.

P2 had a fantastic time visiting the Water of Leith flood defence construction site. As soon as we put on our hard hats and luminous vests we felt just like real builders. On our visit we got to speak to some of the builders about their job, find out about what they were building and the materials they were using. Then we got to watch the different machines at work. It was lots of fun!

Primary 2 have had a fantastic start to the term! They have been working hard and are full of creativity and enthusiasm for their learning.

This week as part of our Marvellous Materials topic we investigated which materials were waterproof. Then we used this knowledge to help us design and build waterproof hats, umbrellas and jackets to keep Ted the teddybear dry. The children had lot of fun putting their designs together and the finished products were ingenious! I was really proud of what the children produced.

We have lots more exciting things to look forward to this term and I am delighted to be working with such a passionate and ambitious class.
